Social Media for SEO & Social Networking

Social media platforms are a great tool for promoting a business. Featuring the products you sell, or posts that you create with links that lead viewers back to your site is great. The platform that I am using is Instagram. The thing that I have found to be the most useful is the tags and the comment section of a post. I do my best to use the caption to drive engagement, but the comment section is where the discussion happens. It's a great way to interact with viewers and promote my website. It's been pretty great!  One thing I realized was I did not even think about the LinkedIn social networking site. This is a great way to market your business because that is a place where people look for that kind of information. I talked about using Tik Tok as a social media platform because it is all the rage right now. I have had friends use this to promote their small businesses and have gotten great responses! I am excited to dive in and use this social media platform to ...

Landing Page Optimization & Website Optimizer

This week, I learned that landing pages are not as simple and to the point,  as I had imagined and thought before. I am still somewhat confused about how they work and how to make an efficient landing page, but I am sure that YouTube (since they are owned by Google) will have some great videos and content on that. I learned a great deal from the discussion boards. Most students feel a bit unsure about new keywords and making updates, and wonder how landing pages work. So I am happy not to be alone. I am planning on making some changes to my site. I want to add some links, redo some pages (contact page, information or about me page). I am sure that as I do that, I will gain more attention. This week, I saw that I was getting searched by people all over the US and even India. I need to refine some things (not sure what yet) so that it stays local.

ROI & Optimizing Ad Performance

For the conversion tracking code, WordPress gives a really good explanation and instruction on how and where you can put your tracking code. It took me a little bit to figure out how to do it, but in the end,  I was able to get it in on my conversion page! This class has taught me so much about websites! I am excited to see how this conversion tracking code will help me improve my website overall!  Narrowing your targeted audience, try to think of what people may type to look up things. I often use one word to search for things I want n the web, but I have realized that most people do not use one word when searching for things. Having this knowledge is helping reshape my creativity when it comes to creating a keyword or thing that people may lookup for. I have come to learn that one needs a lot of creativity to produce an effective keyword.

Relevance & Quality Score

This week I really enjoyed learning about Google’s efforts to improve the ad experience for marketers as well as that for users on their platform. By providing a relevance and quality score to the ads it encourages marketers to produce content that will be more enjoyable for those using Google. Oftentimes, I think we think that a lot of platforms would just want the ad money no matter the relevance, but the fact Google tries to improve the experience for both parties is really cool. From a marketing perspective, I find it really interesting how much strategy there is in the usage of words. Often times from an advertising perspective people would think to just do whatever sounds good, but we can get really deep by looking at what keywords are best and then using those even if in a way they may not “sound” the best. By using analytics like this we can leverage our ads so they are the most optimal for the Google Ad platform.
